Peak Energy Capital LP invests in financial transmission rights and virtual energy in North American electricity markets.
Markets
Wholesale electricity markets are dynamic arenas where electricity is bought and sold between generators and retailers. These markets facilitate the efficient allocation of electricity supply and demand, enabling generators to sell their power and retailers to purchase it at competitive prices. Prices in these markets fluctuate based on factors such as fuel costs, demand patterns, weather conditions, and regulatory policies.
Peak Energy Capital participates in the day-ahead and financial transmission right (FTR) markets of the North American ISOs, with a focus on PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT.
Our Philosophy
Analytics
We use cutting edge technology and data from hundreds of sources to support our analysis. Our analysis blends quantitative modeling with a fundamental understanding of the grid.
Fundamentals
The electricity grid is a giant network of connected generators, consumers, and transmission lines that is constantly evolving. We approach trade valuation by leveraging large datasets and deep fundamental analysis of the grid’s physical properties.
Team Focused
We value working in teams and sharing ideas. We are a flat organization and have found the most success when we leverage knowledge and collaboration across teams. New employees work alongside managers to get up to speed and can quickly affect trading decisions.
